In conclusion, our survey found that many people in Ireland seem to have had their perceptions of race changed over the past few years, likely due to many events that have happened overseas, including the murder to George Flloyd and the insuing protests. Because many so-called 'sympathy protests' sprouted up around the world, including in Ireland, this casued race issues to feel more local and less foreign than ever. This, in my mind, is the biggest and most important reason why people's perceptions of race relations have changed over the past few years.
